Welcome to the blog!
It's my little corner of the web to share my favorite love stories, family adventures, and creative musings
Happy last day of 2015! Boy, has this year been a crazy ride full of so many fun adventures, amazing people, and huge accomplishments. I wanted to do a little something different for my “Year in Review” post so I’m sharing my 15 favorite things from this year. If 2015 was this amazing, I can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for us!
I attended my first conference this year and it transformed my business. I met so many amazing people and learned absolutely so much. I can’t believe it’s almost been a year already! If you ever get the chance, attend C@H! Maddie & Megan were the coolest roomies ever!
I also attended my first photography workshop this year. Ashley of V.A. Photography is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met and I learned so much from her. The styled shoot was also incredibly beautiful despite the awful rainy weather that day!
Maddie (of Madison Short Photography) and I threw together a cute little Valentine’s Day shoot. It was soooo cold, but absolutely so much fun. Their outfits were beyond perfect for the theme!
One of my goals for the year was to become more involved in a community. I longed for a strong community that would be welcoming, supportive, and uplifting. Pursuit Frederick has been one of the best things God has led me to. I have met so many wonderful ladies because of it. I can’t wait for more gatherings in 2016 and our retreat in March! The image below is from a headshot swap we had over the summer 🙂
Continuing off of the Pursuit group, we also had a HUGE styled shoot. This was the first gathering I attended and it was amazing. There were over 20 photographers and different stations we could style and shoot. And the couple that modeled for us were stunning! The sunset was perfect! A couple of my friends and I took another trip to New York together. We went to the MOMA to see the Bjork show and of course walked around the city and found some beautiful places. And you know us photogs had to hit up B&H 😉
This year was a huge year! One of my biggest accomplishments was graduating college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art + Design with a Photo Imaging focus. I remember I didn’t even want to walk across the stage, but I’m glad I chose to because it was the coolest feeling.
After graduation, my sister, my mom, and I went on vacation to celebrate. Our first stop was Camelback Resort in the Poconos where we went Ziplining for the first time ever. I was absolutely terrified. We were at least 200ft in the air and about to travel 4000ft at 60 mph. The door opened for us to go and surprisingly, I didn’t scream! It was so exhilarating and refreshing!
Every year my family goes to Ocean City at least once over the summer. This year it ended up being the second half of my post-graduation vacation. The beach is my favorite place in the world and I dream of living there one day!
For a good friend of mine’s 21st birthday, we surprised her with a fun birthday photoshoot! Tulle skirts & balloons made for the cutest whimsical photos! The “1” balloon ended up flying away at the end of the shoot, it was actually quite funny trying to catch it.
I second shot a wedding in Philadelphia over the summer and decided to go sight seeing while we were there. We saw the Liberty Bell for the first time and went to the LOVE statue.
If you know me, you know I LOVE my music! I had the chance to see one of my favorite country duos twice this year and I even won some Meet & Greet passes to see them! They’re so nice and absolutely amazing to see live. Their voices are so wonderful!
I became a member of the National Bone Marrow Registry. A little girl I know is in need of a bone marrow transplant so I joined in honor of her. It would be really amazing if you joined as well! There are so many people in need bone marrow transplants and you could save a life! What better thing is there than that!? Email me if you’d like more information. #TeamPhoebe
I had the honor of photographing some really amazing couples this year. Engagement sessions are some of my favorite things so why not share some of my favorite photos from this year!
Oh, weddings, the loveliest of days! I’ve witnessed some amazing marriages this year at so many beautiful places. I shot my first Destination Wedding in the mountains of Pennsylvania and second shot in West Virginia! A few family members and friends got married and I got to be their photographer (and a guest!). I’m so incredibly happy for all of my couples and hope you all have an amazing 2016!
Here’s just a few of my favorite wedding shots from this year! It was so hard to pick; wish I could just post the entire weddings 😉
If you’re still reading, thanks for sticking around to see my highlights of 2015! I wish you the best New Year’s Eve and I hope that 2016 brings so many amazing adventures and people your way!
Much Love, Chelsea
